The process
Gas injection technology (GIT) is a technical process during which nitrogen is injected into the plastic core of a large injection-moulded part to produce a tubular channel.
Gas injection technology can trace its beginnings back to a similar process which was first mentioned in a published patent application in 1972.
GIT gained in significance as a reliable practical process during the 1980s.
